Changing the Device Name

In a Dante® network, the Device Name is used to identify each device and to identify its individual audio channels. It must be unique on a network, otherwise a receiver cannot distinguish which device is transmitting the audio channels requested. For this reason, each 12Mic-D unit is given unique names from the factory, similar to "RME12Mic-d65432". The Device Name can only be changed by the Dante Controller.

To check the current device name:

  1. Open the System Information screen in the State section (see: device control).
